Group Psychotherapy is a wonderful way to explore several areas of life that are hard to get at in individual psychotherapy. In group, a person is challenged to consider how they relate to a variety of different persons. Further, a person gets feedback from other group members on these ways of relating. We all are shaped by our past. Group illuminates some of the ways a person has learned to interact with others and helps them practice new ways of interacting.
Because group members don't have outside contact, the relationships have a level of safety not seen in personal relationships. This frees people to explore parts of themselves that may be inhibited in other places in their lives.
Right now, I have 2 ongoing groups and I am forming a third group. The groups I run are co-ed and co-facilitated with a trusted colleague.
