FEES AND PRACTICE POLICIES (NC/SC)
Initial Session Information:
Therapy generally starts with an intake where I ask a new client a wide range of questions. This session is a means of getting an idea of who someone is and how I may be of help. If the fit doesn’t feel “right”, then the client will have the option to ask for referrals. The fee for this intake is $510.00 and lasts 110 minutes.
On-going Therapy And Fee Information:
After the intake, individual therapy sessions are 45 minutes and $190.00 or 60 minutes and $255.00. Longer and shorter session times are prorated to the hourly fee. Many folks opt for a standard 50 minute session. Group sessions are 75-90 minutes and $100.00. Agreements about payment amount and method are discussed prior to our first session and then discussed more fully during intake.
Payment Information:
I operate on a “fee-for-service” model, meaning I ask clients to pay me at the beginning of each session. I then provide a detailed monthly receipt for my clients’ record keeping. There are now services to help clients submit their out-of-network claims. One of these services, called GetBetter, is located at https://getbetter.co/.
Insurance Information:
I do not participate on managed care insurance panels (other than student plan listed above). If you plan on using your coverage please check with your insurance company prior to scheduling. Ask your insurance company about their “out-of-network coverage”, yearly deductible, percentage they will reimburse, and whether a prior authorization is needed. Please Note: I am NOT a Medicare provider, and have opted-out of this program. Due to my status as a non-Medicare provider, I am unable to accept persons into my practice who are covered by Medicare (either as primary or secondary).
Missed Sessions or Late Cancellations:
In order to both organize my practice and guarantee clients regular times, I schedule a single weekly (or biweekly) time slot for a client. Missed sessions are not billable to insurance and will be charged to the client. A charge of the full session is applied when appointments are missed or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. Regarding a planning error or preventable miss, the 48 hour policy holds. Missed Session or Late Cancel Fees can be waived for emergency issues only.
